It seems to me that so much of the relationship is set in the first month as the working dynamics are being defined, especially in comparison to the expectations set in the new business process. How the client and agency works together is defined then, which is often a very difficult time, as the client has probably been holding off on completing projects until their new agency is in place. Then the deluge comes and we are often so busy trying to meet tight deadlines that we don't take enough time to understand each other and build a shared knowledge of the business.
